Our story began in the early 1970s when our Group Chairman, Late Mr V. S. K. Menon,
established a foam dealership in Jamshedpur. His vision extended beyond trading, inspiring
one of his sons, T. K. Narayanan, a fresh engineering graduate from RIT Jamshedpur, to
embrace entrepreneurship. As they explored opportunities, they discovered that Polyurethane
Foam (PU) manufacturing was virtually non-existent in Eastern India during the early
1980s—an untapped potential waiting to be realized.
Determined to bring this industry to the region, they travelled to Bangalore to study PU foam
production. The challenges were immense-high import duties, foreign dependency on
machinery and raw materials, and financial hurdles-but they pressed on.
A breakthrough came in 1983 when the Odisha Government’s '1000 Industries in 1000
Days' initiative extended support. Seizing this opportunity, they established Diana Foams
Pvt. Ltd. in Rairangpur by early 1984, acquiring cutting-edge Danish machinery from HYMA
and premium German raw materials from BAYER. By 1985, production was in full swing.
With success paving the way, we expanded in 1998 by founding Teekay Foams Pvt. Ltd..
Today, with four manufacturing units across India, our journey of innovation, quality, and
excellence continues.
